Newfield Hurricanes at the 2006 US Futsal Championship
The Newfield Hurricanes, our U19 girls team participated in the U. S. Futsal XXI National Championship. The National Championship took place in Anaheim, California from July 20 to July 24. The Hurricanes played 4 games at the nationals and had a 2W-2L record. The Hurricanes lost a game against the Women's Open National Champions (the same team was the U19 champion) 4-1, lost another game 2-1 and won 2 games 5-1 and 7-2. The Hurricanes scored 14 goals and had 9 goals scored against them. The Hurricanes finished third in goals score and 2nd in least goals given in 4 games. Only the Women's National Champions had one more goal than the Hurricanes and 3 less scored against them. The Hurricanes had a very successful national championship and represented Long Island and New York Futsal - East with great success and pride.
